Yum’s the word

I’ve never cooked an actual Thanksgiving dinner before, but I’m going to give it a shot this year. We typically fill up on holiday eats at our respective mom’s houses and then bring the leftovers home. While we will still follow that tradition this year, we have decided to invite a couple of our friends over for a traditional home-cooked meal Thanksgiving evening.
Here’s the menu so far (subject to change):
Turkey
Dressing – Mom’s making me an additional 9×13 pan from her fabulous recipe
Sweet Potato Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Whole Kernel Sweet Corn
Sister Shubert Rolls
Pumpkin Pie
I’m starving just thinking about it!
After eating, we’ll relax in front of the television to watch my all-time favorite movie, Home for the Holidays. Can’t wait! =)

Save some for me!!
Are you making your own pie or store bought?
@ Randomability: I’m not sure. I think homemade would be better though!
Okay. I decided I’m making the pie, too. =)
OMG Brian. I can’t help but remember a time a few years ago when you couldn’t even make Jello. You’re my hero.
We’re actually getting to spend the day with MY family for once. I’m sure we’ll be at home by 2 pm.
It’s super easy, especially if you go for the pie mix.
@ alyson: LOL. You guys have a great Thanksgiving!!
@ Randomability: I went with canned pumpkin (not the mix) and am going to use the recipe that came with it. It sounds easy enough.
WOW! What a gorgeous spread! Our’s was much more simple… just turkey, stuffing and potatoes… but we loved it! Happy holidays all around!
So… how did the pie turn out? Well, and everything else too ;)
@ Wendy: Happy holidays to you, sweetie!!
@ Emily: It was fantastic!! I bought Libby’s canned pumpkin (not the mix) and used the recipe on the back. I’ll post a picture of my turkey tonight. =)
